Yuzuru Mustang narrowed his eyes as he felt a presence. It wasn't nearby, pretty far away, but he knew that it was a bad presence. He marched out of his office and quickly dashed into the PA system room. He quickly flipped the 'on' switch and announced:
"Students and staff of the Mustang Academy of Alchemy. This is a warning for you all. Danger is coming. The presence of the homunculus has been spotted, so we must all tread carefully. No students should go outside alone, as for the staff. We must all be prepared for another battle. That is all."
When he finished, he flipped the switch one more time and sighed. Another fight was on its way, he knew it. He quickly took off his outer jacket and made it disappear into thin air, then headed for the clearing in the academy's grounds. I guess a little bit of training wouldn't hurt....
Kasumi brightened up considerably at the word "battle". Finally, something interesting was happening in Mustang. She quickly grabbed her dagger from the drawer and made her way around her desk and out the door, heading towards the clearing. It was free study time for her students, and a free period for her so she could get in about an hour of combat training done. As Kasumi approached the field she spotted a tiny figure in the distance. With her affinity for spirit alchemy sh quickly identified it as the Headmaster. "Yuzuru!" She called to the black haired man.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi tensed at the announcement. He quite liked battle, actually, and it was Nana he was worried about. She had been quite distant with him lately, making it harder for him to protect her when the time came. Fuyushi would still guard her with his life, however much she protested.

ReplyDeleteProfessor Mustang turned around. He made the last shadow disappear, then started towards the other professor. "Hello, Professor Yurina," he said. "I suppose you're training as well?"
Nana looked up, worried. She wasn't that good of a fighter. Should she...? Finally, she made up her mind, scrunching her eyes up several times, then rushing off to find Fuyushi. She wouldn't be alone in this battle.

ReplyDelete"Always good to train early in the morning, Headmaster," Kasumi responded smoothly, stopping in front of the Dark Alchemist. "Shall we train together?"
Akinara looked up, excitement glistening in her eyes. A fight! She leapt up, and raced over to the boys' dorm to find Anakira. Perhaps they could train together....
Haruki ignored the announcement, but put another drop of anthrax in the vial on her table.

ReplyDeleteThe headmaster smirked slightly. "Sure, but I won't go easy on you." A black outline surrounded him.
"Ahhhh!!! I get to make more puppets!!!!!" Takupi screamed from a corner.
Kasumi shrugged. "Didn't expect you to. You may attack first," she offered, already knowing his first move. She fingered her dagger in anticipation.
ReplyDeleteProfessor Mustang narrowed his eyes for a moment, then materialized a silent shadow behind the other teacher, lunging at her as she turned around to face it.
ReplyDeleteKasumi smiled and raised her arm, her dagger blocking his attack while she punched under, hitting his stomach with full force, sending him flying backwards, coughing.
ReplyDeleteYuzuru looked up, smiling slightly. He hadn't had a fight like this in ages. He shadowstepped to the right, then back to the left, quickly appearing behind Kasumi. He elbowed her hard in the back, but not with all of his force, and she crashed to the ground.
ReplyDeleteKasumi's hands shot out and she flipped backwards, behind Yuzuru. She flipped into the spirit world then out, appearing on top of Yuzuru as she twisted his shoulder, hearing a satisfying crack.
ReplyDeleteYuzuru kneeled down and jumped out of her reach, once again facing the professor.
ReplyDeleteKasumi shot a wave of spirit energy at him, overwhelming his brain with memories, making him fall on the floor, writhing in pain as she forced him to think he was being tortured.
ReplyDeleteYuzuru forced his eyes open and sent out two shadows, knocking Kasumi to the ground. Painfully, he stood up and summoned a shadow sword, lunging at the deputy headmistress and holding the sword straight at her throat, using the two shadows to pin her arms and legs to the ground.
ReplyDeleteKasumi smiled benignly, and she disappeared in a poof of wispy silver smoke. A brief second later she was holding Yuzuru in a headlock, a silver dagger at his neck. "All I have to do is slice," she whispered maliciously at him.
ReplyDeleteYuzuru smirked. "Is that so?" he asked in a similar tone, disappearing into the shadows and reappearing on the other side of the courtyard.
ReplyDeleteKasumi sheathed her dagger, glancing across the courtyard. "You know it will never end," she called to him. "You know we're both holding back; you know we could both be dead on the ground within five minutes if we really tried. There's no point."
ReplyDeleteYuzuru put his hands in his pockets. "You're right," he said calmly. "Well, I guess since this is over, I'll be heading back to my office," he said, turning around.
ReplyDeleteKasumi willed him to stop and turn back around. After she had released her hold on his mind, she smiled, something rare for the teacher of Elemental Alchemy. "Thanks for the training session," she said quietly.
ReplyDeleteYuzuru smiled slightly. "I'm glad you enjoyed it," he said, and wandered off.
ReplyDeleteKasumi's smile fell off her face and she turned back around to face the bright landscape, her expression neutral as she felt the wind turn around her.
ReplyDeleteTakupi stepped out of the building and stretched. "NYAAAA~!" he cried.

Kasumi swiveled around, her expression exasperated. "What are you doing , Takupi?" She groaned, staring at the strange teacher.

Hanashi gabe the other teacher a strange look. "Stretching," he said calmly, pulling out a Kasumi puppet....

Hanashi sighed as he put away the puppet. "I don't have anyone to imitate now!" he shouted to himself.
