Akinara, with Nana and Yumeshi, walked into the classroom and sat next to each other across the middle. Akinara saw her brother at the end of the row and rolled her eyes at him. Fuyushi raised an eyebrow and continued listening to Brahms. For a brief second, he glanced at Yumeshi, and jerked his head towards Nana.
Yumeshi continued to chat with Akinara. Nana was buried in the basic alchemy textbook. Just then, Professor Mustang walked into the room. "Settle down, class," she said. "Everybody please flip to page xxi, where you find a brief introduction to basic alchemy. Please take a few minutes to read it."
After a while, Yumeshi and Nana both looked up at Kana, finished. Kana walked up to them and handed them each a sheet. "Try to fill this out," she said to them.
Akinara filled it out, and finished in 10 minutes. Looking up, she saw that the others were almost done, too. Fuyushi was staring at her. She glared at him, then raised her hand. "Professor, what do we do when we're done?"
Mustang scanned the class. "It seems like everyone is done," she said. She clapped her hands and pressed them to the board. Words appeared onto the blackboard. "Here are the answers. When you are done checking your answers, please come up to the board and write your name, and how many questions out of ten did you get right."
Yumeshi and Nana both walked up to the board. 9 out of 10, Yumeshi wrote. Underneath it, in neat, small handwriting, Nana wrote: Nana Yoshimizu, 10 out of 10.
Nana narrowed her eyes, but said nothing. Kana clapped her hands. "OK, class, we will now separate into two groups based on your scores." She scanned the class for a moment. "Yumeshi, go sit next to Akinara, and Nana, you go sit next to Fuyushi." Nana groaned inwardly but stalked over to Fuyushi's desk. Yumeshi happily bounded over to Akinara. "Now, I want you to read the chapter titled 'Basic Alchemy Circles' and compose an essay on the essentials of alchemy circles. Now, begin!"
Akinara gave Nana a sympathetic look, then skipped over to Yumeshi with a bright smile on her face. She took out her textbook and shared it with her. "Is that the first chapter?" She asked her.
Fuyushi leaned back on his chair, staring up at Nana. "So we're together again, huh?" He commented, trying not to sound disappointed that he was going to be partnered up with the boring, stiff girl again.
Nana, hearing the slight disappoint in his voice, said nothing, but narrowed her eyes a millimeter. Then she started to look at the book. "How about you read this page and I'll read this page?" she suggested, pointing at two of the pages in the chapter.
Yumeshi looked at the page. "I think so," she said. "How about you read the first chapter and I'll read the second? Then you read the third, and so on," she suggested.
Shiina looked up. "Obviously, transmutation circles are circles that encircle each other while several other markings are in the middle. All transmutation circles are parallel and symmetrical. And the rest of the page basically talks about the different types of patterns in the middle.
Nana nodded. "So, how should we write this?" For once, there was a slight smile on her face, and she looked at Fuyushi with such a look of hope on her face that she felt like her face was going to melt from optimism.
Fuyushi cocked his head in thought. "Well, I think we need five paragraphs. The first one should be a catchy introduction, the second about the basics of alchemy, the third about famous alchemists, the fourth one about a couple of interesting things about alchemy, then the fifth one as a conclusion. What do you think should be in the paragraphs?"
Shiina drew five rectangles onto the paper. In the first one, she wrote, 'opening:', the second one 'basics', the third one 'famous alchemists', the fourth one 'facts' and the fifth one 'conclusion'. Then she looked up at him again. "So......?"
Shiina started pointing to the rectangles. "You write these," she said pointing to some of them. "And I'll write these," she said. "Then when we're done we can fuse the bits of paper together with alchemy."
Fuyushi nodded. "Okay," he agreed. "You write the intro, I'll write the basics, you write the alchemists, I write the facts, then we write the conclusion together."
Yumeshi looked up from her paper to see both Nana and Fuyushi discussing things together. She smiled inwardly. Then she turned towards Akinara. "I think I'm just about done," she said.
Akinara looked up from her planning. "Yeah, me too. Here, I've planned it out for us. We need five paragraphs. The first one should be a catchy introduction, the second about the basics of alchemy, the third about famous alchemists, the fourth one about a couple of interesting things about alchemy, then the fifth one as a conclusion," she explained, pointing them out on her paper.
Fuyushi looked up from his work. "Almost.... okay!" He slammed his pen down onto the table, rubbing his sore arm. "Yeah, I'm done," he said, looking at Nana a little apologetically for the sudden sound.
Akinara nodded, already writing the facts part of it.
Akinara smiled. "It's nice. I like the introduction. It's got a good hook," she complimented her friend. "Here's mine." She handed over her own part of it.
Fuyushi grinned. "Together," he said, and he clapped his hands together, looking over at Nana to see if she was doing the same.
Akinara rolled her eyes. "Whatever," she grinned, quickly correcting it. "Let's put it together with alchemy," she suggested, drawing out the alchemy circle.
Fuyushi nodded. "It looks okay," he commented vaguely. "We should write our names on it, and the date."
Fuyushi looked up. "Yeah, Nana and I are," he called out.
Akinara clapped her hands together as well, and pressed them onto the paper, then the two pieces of paper molded together as one. She looked up at her teacher's tone. "Yes, professor," she replied.
Mustang collected their essays and scanned them quickly. Then she looked up. "There are still 10 minutes of class," she said. "You may do anything you like."
Mustang stared at Fuyushi for a while, then shook her head. She went back to reading the essays. Yumeshi grabbed a copy of "The Triumph of Edward Elric" and also began to read. Nana stared into space, her eyes becoming dull.
Fuyushi sighed, then used his free hand to softly turn her face over so she had to look at him. His other hand still rested in her shoulder. "Why... are... you... ignoring me?" He stared at her, his tone low and a little annoyed.
Fuyushi stared after her, then sighed and sat back in his seat, staring up at the ceiling. He felt two gazes trained on him, and he turned around to see Akinara and Yumeshi staring at him. "What're you staring at?" He snapped, then slung his bag over his shoulder and stalked out of the room.
Akinara stared at him for a moment longer then looked at Yumeshi. "What was that all about?"
Five minutes later, Fuyushi stepped in with Anikara. He automatically stepped towards Nana, intending to sit next to her. He stopped right in front of her, then awkwardly shuffled away and sat behind her.
Akinara rolled her eyes at her brother and looked up at Professor Mustang.
Anakira sat down next to Fuyoshi. Professor Mustang looked at the class. "OK, today we will do an in-class project. I want each of you to research the famous alchemists who only performed basic alchemy, pick one, and write up a report about them. Then come up and present it, OK?" Yumeshi, Nana and Anakira all nodded.
Fuyushi paused for a second, then grinned. He immediately took out a book on Edward Elric and began researching him. Akinara looked over and cursed. She was going to do him. She thought for a second, then looked up Izumi Curtis.
Nana looked at her notes and quickly memorized them. Yumeshi wrote down bullet points on a small piece of paper, and Anakira wrote some words down on his hand.
Professor Mustang nodded, and took out a piece of paper. "Everyone else," she said. "You should all take notes as well." Nana, Yumeshi and Anakira also got out paper. Anakira gave Fuyushi a thumbs-up.
Fuyushi grinned at Anakira, and got up from his seat to stand in front of the class. He began his speech, talking about the early years of Edward Elric, his brother Alphonse Elric, his teacher Izumi Curtis, his successes, how he worked for the military, and other pieces of vital information about the Fullmetal Alchemist. When he finished, he grinned at everyone again, and bowed.
Mustang narrowed her eyes and wrote a few more things down. Then she waved her hand at him. "Any more volunteers?" Yumeshi stood up and absorbed the class in a speech on Berthold Hawkeye. When she finished, she sat down. Mustang scanned the class for any other raised hands.
Akinara looked around, shrugged, and raised her hand, then began her speech on Izumi Curtis. She spoke with variety, showing her lively side, even involving a bit of alchemy. She finished with a simple but captivating conclusion, giving the class a cute little curtsy, then sat back down in her seat.
Mustang nodded once more. Her eyes scanned the room. Anakira looked over at Nana. She looked slightly unsure, so he stood up and delivered his speech on Alphonse Elric.
Anakira sat down. Nana opened her closed eyes and stood up. After delivering her speech, Professor Mustang lectured the class. "You need more improvement on your presentation skills. Class is over." Nana and Yumeshi stood up and left with Akinara. Anakira walked over to Fuyushi.
Akinara, with Nana and Yumeshi, walked into the classroom and sat next to each other across the middle. Akinara saw her brother at the end of the row and rolled her eyes at him. ReplyDeleteAkinara took a glance at her paper. She walked up to the board, and wrote-
ReplyDeleteAkinara Natsuko: 9 out of 10
Yumeshi and Nana both walked up to the board. 9 out of 10, Yumeshi wrote. Underneath it, in neat, small handwriting, Nana wrote: Nana Yoshimizu, 10 out of 10.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi walked up in a bored manner. Next to the three girls' scores, he wrote-
ReplyDeleteFuyushi Natsuko: 10 out of 10.
Nana narrowed her eyes, but said nothing. Kana clapped her hands. "OK, class, we will now separate into two groups based on your scores." She scanned the class for a moment. Akinara nodded. "Sure," she agreed, and read the page.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi shrugged and read the second page.
Yumeshi and Nana both started to read.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi looked up after a while. "You done?"
ReplyDeleteNana looked up. "Yeah," she said, taking out a piece of paper. Meanwhile, Yumeshi and Akinara were busy planning out their essay.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi nodded and took out a piece of paper as well. He looked at the page. "So what did you read about?" He asked.
ReplyDeleteShiina looked up. "Obviously, transmutation circles are circles that encircle each other while several other markings are in the middle. All transmutation circles are parallel and symmetrical. And the rest of the page basically talks about the different types of patterns in the middle.
ReplyDelete*NANA OH SCREW THAT :/
ReplyDeleteFuyushi nods. "For me, it just talked about famous alchemists, like Roy Mustang, Edward Elric, Alphonse Elric and so on."
ReplyDeleteNana nodded. "So, how should we write this?" For once, there was a slight smile on her face, and she looked at Fuyushi with such a look of hope on her face that she felt like her face was going to melt from optimism.

ReplyDeleteShiina started pointing to the rectangles. "You write these," she said pointing to some of them. "And I'll write these," she said. "Then when we're done we can fuse the bits of paper together with alchemy."

ReplyDelete*Nana screw this.
Fuyushi nodded. "Okay," he agreed. "You write the intro, I'll write the basics, you write the alchemists, I write the facts, then we write the conclusion together."
ReplyDeleteNana started to write quickly.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi did the same.
ReplyDelete(lol what happened to yumeshi and akinara?)
(:D)
ReplyDeleteYumeshi looked up from her paper to see both Nana and Fuyushi discussing things together. She smiled inwardly. Then she turned towards Akinara. "I think I'm just about done," she said.
Akinara looked up from her planning. "Yeah, me too. Here, I've planned it out for us. We need five paragraphs. ReplyDeleteYumeshi nodded. "I'll write the first three," she said to Akinara.
ReplyDeleteNana finished writing and looked up at Fuyoshi. "Finished," she muttered to him.
Fuyushi looked up from his work. "Almost.... okay!" He slammed his pen down onto the table, rubbing his sore arm. "Yeah, I'm done," he said, looking at Nana a little apologetically for the sudden sound.
ReplyDeleteAkinara nodded, already writing the facts part of it.
Nana winced, slightly affected because of her acute hearing, but handed her essay to Fuyushi to examine.
ReplyDeleteYumeshi also started to scribble down notes.
Fuyushi read it over. "It's good," he nodded, impressed. "Here's mine," he offered, handing over his part.
ReplyDeleteAkinara finished. "You done?"
Yumeshi was finishing up her portion. "Yeah," she said happily handing it to Akinara to read.
ReplyDeleteNana read Fuyushi's part silently. Then she slowly nodded. Then, she drew the alchemy circle that binded bits of paper together. "Ready?" she asked.
Akinara smiled. "It's nice. I like the introduction. It's got a good hook," she complimented her friend. "Here's mine." She handed over her own part of it.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi grinned. "Together," he said, and he clapped his hands together, looking over at Nana to see if she was doing the same.
Nana silently performed the procedure, and the essay was together in no time.
ReplyDeleteYumeshi read Akinara's part. "You spelled alchemy wrong here," she commented. "But other than that, It's really good!!!"
Akinara rolled her eyes. "Whatever," she grinned, quickly correcting it. "Let's put it together with alchemy," she suggested, drawing out the alchemy circle.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi nodded. "It looks okay," he commented vaguely. "We should write our names on it, and the date."
Yumeshi abruptly clapped her hands together, finding it a relief to use alchemy at last.
ReplyDeleteNana, hearing the vague tone in his voice, narrowed her eyes, but dutifully wrote all the items he had listed down on the paper.
Mustang stood up and looked at the class. "Is everyone just about done?" she asked.
Fuyushi looked up. "Yeah, Nana and I are," he called out.
ReplyDeleteAkinara clapped her hands together as well, and pressed them onto the paper, then the two pieces of paper molded together as one. She looked up at her teacher's tone. "Yes, professor," she replied.
Mustang collected their essays and scanned them quickly. Then she looked up. "There are still 10 minutes of class," she said. "You may do anything you like."
ReplyDeleteFuyushi glanced at Nana, then back at his teacher. "Is there any homework?"
ReplyDeleteAkinara got out her book, titled "The Raging River", flipped to a page, and began to read it.
Mustang stared at Fuyushi for a while, then shook her head. She went back to reading the essays. Yumeshi grabbed a copy of "The Triumph of Edward Elric" and also began to read. Nana stared into space, her eyes becoming dull.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi nudged Nana. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked.
ReplyDeleteAkinara read. (LOL)
(:D) Yumeshi also read.
ReplyDeleteNana looked down, slightly bored.
Fuyushi still stared at her. "Uh, Nana?"
ReplyDeleteNana looked up at him.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi stared down at her, his tall figure towering over her smaller body. His green eyes bore into her dark red ones. "Are you okay?"
ReplyDeleteNana continued to stare at him, looking like a retarded owl.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi put his hand on her shoulder and gave her a gentle shake. "Nana."
ReplyDeleteAkinara sneaked a look at the pair and sniggered, nudging Yumeshi next to her.
Yumeshi giggled slightly and continued to watch the pair.
ReplyDeleteNana was now staring past Fuyushi, her eyes darkening.
(....dunno where this is gna lead.....XD)
(me neither)
ReplyDeleteFuyushi sighed, then used his free hand to softly turn her face over so she had to look at him. His other hand still rested in her shoulder. "Why... are... you... ignoring me?" He stared at her, his tone low and a little annoyed.
(D:)
ReplyDeleteNana stared through him. Then she stood up and ran out of the classroom.
(JESUS that is lame.)
ReplyDeleteAkinara stared at him for a moment longer then looked at Yumeshi. "What was that all about?"
Yumeshi looked at her. "I'm not sure," she said, just as confused as the other girl.
ReplyDeleteAkinara suddenly grinned deviously. "Let's follow them," she smirked at Yumeshi.
ReplyDeleteYumeshi smiled and followed Akinara out of the room, after an approving nod from Mustang.
ReplyDeleteNana, Yumeshi and Akinara all stepped into the room and sat down. Professor Mustang nodded politely at them.
ReplyDeleteFive minutes later, Fuyushi stepped in with Anikara. He automatically stepped towards Nana, intending to sit next to her. He stopped right in front of her, then awkwardly shuffled away and sat behind her.
ReplyDeleteAkinara rolled her eyes at her brother and looked up at Professor Mustang.

ReplyDeleteAnakira began to research Alphonse Elric. Yumeshi looked up Roy Mustang's tutor, and Nana looked up an unknown alchemist.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi began writing out his speech, and Akinara was taking notes.
ReplyDeleteNana scribbled out a script. Yumeshi was looking up important facts. Anakira was writing on his paper.
ReplyDeleteAkinara got out a packet of index cards, and began writing down her script-notes. Fuyushi did the same.
ReplyDeleteNana looked at her notes and quickly memorized them. Yumeshi wrote down bullet points on a small piece of paper, and Anakira wrote some words down on his hand.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi looked up, finished, and looked around at the rest of the class.
ReplyDeleteEveryone else had just finished. Professor Mustang looked up. "OK," she said. "Who wants to go first?"
ReplyDeleteFuyushi looked around, shrugged, and raised his hand. "Uh, I'll go first, professor," he offered to Mustang.
ReplyDeleteProfessor Mustang nodded, and took out a piece of paper. "Everyone else," she said. "You should all take notes as well." Nana, Yumeshi and Anakira also got out paper. Anakira gave Fuyushi a thumbs-up.

ReplyDeleteFuyushi grinned at Anakira and gave him a little golf clap. Akinara smiled softly up at Anakira and nodded.
ReplyDeleteAnakira sat down. Nana opened her closed eyes and stood up. After delivering her speech, Professor Mustang lectured the class. "You need more improvement on your presentation skills. Class is over." Nana and Yumeshi stood up and left with Akinara. Anakira walked over to Fuyushi.
ReplyDeleteFuyushi grinned at Anakira. "Your's was good, dude," he nodded, thinking of his and Nana's appointment at the coffee shop.
ReplyDeleteAnakira noticed that Fuyushi was going off track, and decided to ignore it. He looked at him. "So was yours!"
ReplyDeleteFuyushi looked back at him again from his eyes wandering pointlessly around the room. "Thanks. C'mon, it's time for dinner."
ReplyDeleteAnakira nodded and they both left.
ReplyDelete
